Systems Engineer
Network Systems Engineer responsible for monitoring, configuring, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, using Cisco/Juniper gear and automation scripts.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents across routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN connections to ensure high‑availability network services.
- Configure, upgrade, and maintain Cisco IOS and Juniper Junos devices, applying security patches and firmware updates.
- Design and implement network changes, documenting topology diagrams and change‑control records while communicating impacts to clients.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., Python) for routine tasks such as device provisioning, configuration backups, and log analysis.
- Utilize network monitoring platforms (SolarWinds, PRTG) to proactively identify performance bottlenecks and capacity planning needs.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience with enterprise routing and switching (Cisco, Juniper) and firewall/VPN technologies.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and network security best practices.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) for automation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and incident management processes.
- Active Secret security clearance (Top Secret preferred) and ability to work independently in a hybrid environment.
