Software Engineer
Provide second‑level network support for marine and energy projects, handling Cisco routing, VPNs, firewalls, and Windows/Linux server environments while scripting automated solutions and ensuring high availability.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues across Cisco, VPN, and firewall infrastructures supporting critical marine and energy projects.
- Configure, maintain, and optimize routing and switching equipment to ensure reliable connectivity for on‑site and remote operations.
- Monitor network performance, conduct capacity planning, and implement proactive measures to prevent outages.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash) for routine tasks, configuration backups, and incident response.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including field engineers and project managers, to align network solutions with project requirements.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience with Cisco routing/switching, VPN technologies, and firewall administration.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and network security best practices.
- Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux administration, including Active Directory and DNS.
- Experience scripting in PowerShell or Bash to automate network tasks.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, effective communication, and ability to work in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.
