Security Engineer
Provide first‑line support for client IT infrastructure, focusing on network security monitoring, incident investigation, and resolution of low‑complexity security incidents using firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS tools.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the initial point of contact for client security incidents, logging and triaging tickets in accordance with service level agreements.
- Monitor firewalls, VPN gateways, and IDS/IPS systems, identifying alerts and escalating when necessary.
- Perform basic troubleshooting on Windows and Linux environments to resolve connectivity and security‑related issues.
- Document incident findings, apply standard remediation steps, and communicate status updates to clients and senior engineers.
- Participate in proactive health checks and routine security configuration reviews to prevent future incidents.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in network security operations or L1 support.
- Hands‑on knowledge of firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet), VPN technologies, and IDS/IPS platforms.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux system administration and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, VLANs).
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to document incidents clearly.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA Security, or equivalent are a plus.
