Security Engineer
Design, implement, and manage secure network infrastructures, focusing on firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems while automating tasks with Python and supporting enterprise Cisco environments.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy secure network architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS solutions, to protect client and internal systems.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco routing and switching equipment to ensure optimal performance and security compliance.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python) for routine security tasks, policy updates, and incident response.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and security audits, providing actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate security controls into cloud and on‑premise projects, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience in network security engineering, preferably in a VAR or managed services environment.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco networking, firewall platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet), VPN technologies, and IDS/IPS solutions.
- Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and security tooling.
- Experience with security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, or PCI DSS.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP Security, CISSP, GSEC) are a plus.
