Implementation Engineer
Implement and maintain high‑capacity fiber optic networks, handling OSP deployment, equipment configuration, and troubleshooting while leveraging Cisco and Juniper platforms and automation scripts.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, install, and commission outside‑plant (OSP) fiber infrastructure for new and existing routes.
- Configure, test, and optimize Cisco and Juniper routing/switching equipment in the field.
- Perform fiber splicing, termination, and loss testing to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Diagnose and resolve network faults, coordinating with NOC and service teams to meet SLA targets.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., Python) to streamline provisioning and reporting tasks.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience with fiber optic OSP deployment and maintenance.
- Proficiency in configuring Cisco IOS and Juniper Junos devices.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, including use of OTDR, power meters, and network monitoring tools.
- Experience with scripting or automation (Python preferred) to improve operational efficiency.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, or Fiber Optic Technician certification are a plus.
