Software Engineer
Hands‑on Network Field Engineer responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining high‑capacity business internet, colocation, and telecom infrastructure using Cisco routing/switching, fiber optics, and VPN technologies.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, and commission Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls at customer sites.
- Perform fiber‑optic splicing, termination, and verification to ensure optimal link performance.
- Diagnose and resolve LAN/WAN connectivity issues using tools such as Wireshark and network analyzers.
- Configure and maintain VPN tunnels, QoS policies, and security settings in accordance with service level agreements.
- Document all field activities, update network diagrams, and provide detailed reports to the operations team.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience in network installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- CCNA or higher certification with strong knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and switching technologies.
- Proficiency in fiber‑optic cabling, splicing, and OTDR testing.
- Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently on customer sites.
