Security Engineer
Experienced Naval System Security Engineer responsible for designing, integrating, and securing complex surface weapon and combat defense systems, applying advanced cybersecurity measures and system engineering practices.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and manage complex naval surface weapons, combat, and fire‑control systems for customer platforms.
- Create detailed system design and integration documentation for weapons control, situational awareness, and combat management systems.
- Design and implement security engineering controls, threat modeling, and hardening techniques to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and security testing throughout the system lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams, program managers, and Navy stakeholders to ensure compliance with security standards and operational requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience with naval surface weapon, combat, or fire‑control systems and associated integration processes.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, secure architecture design, and applicable DoD/Navy security standards.
- Proficiency in C++ and Linux environments for embedded and real‑time system development.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
