Lead the design and execution of open‑pit operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable mining at the Hammerdown Project using advanced engineering and geotechnical techniques.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine open‑pit designs and mine plans for the Hammerdown Project, integrating geological, geotechnical, and environmental data.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to execute construction and operational phases, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and sustainability standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, slope stability analyses, and support the implementation of mitigation strategies to protect personnel and assets.
- Collaborate with exploration, drilling, and environmental teams to optimize resource recovery and minimize environmental impact.
- Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and progress updates for senior management and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in open‑pit design, mine planning, and project management.
- Proficiency in mining software (e.g., Surpac, Datamine, MineSight) and GIS tools.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and sustainable mining practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
