Software Engineer
Lead technical operations for a large potash mine, overseeing drilling, geotechnical studies, safety protocols, and project execution using CAD, GIS, and data analytics to ensure efficient, compliant, and sustainable mining practices.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise drilling programs, ensuring optimal depth, trajectory, and safety compliance.
- Conduct geotechnical investigations, interpret data, and recommend ground support solutions.
- Develop and enforce mine safety procedures, conduct risk assessments, and lead incident investigations.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate design, construction, and production plans.
- Utilize CAD and GIS tools to produce and update mine layouts, support systems, and resource models.
- Analyze operational data to identify performance trends, cost drivers, and improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mine technical roles, preferably in potash or similar commodity.
- Proficiency in CAD, GIS, and data analysis software.
- Strong knowledge of mining safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
