Mid-level Data Scientist Engineer responsible for designing, building, and deploying explainable AI/ML models in mission‑critical environments, leveraging Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, and cloud services to turn raw data into actionable intelligence.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable machine‑learning models that meet strict security and performance requirements.
- Implement end‑to‑end data pipelines, including data ingestion, preprocessing, feature engineering, and model monitoring.
- Collaborate with mission analysts and engineers to translate operational needs into AI solutions and ensure model explainability.
- Maintain and optimize production ML infrastructure using containerization (Docker) and cloud services (AWS).
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices in reproducible research.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field with 3+ years of hands‑on ML experience.
- Proficiency in Python and major ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Experience building and scaling models in cloud environments (AWS) and using container technologies.
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, deep learning, and model interpretability techniques.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph eligibility.
