Software Engineer
A Methods Engineering Technologist will develop and optimize manufacturing processes for aerospace components, applying GD&T, Lean, and Six Sigma principles while using CAD tools and data analysis to improve quality, cost, and delivery.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, document, and maintain manufacturing methods and work instructions for aerospace structures and assemblies.
- Apply GD&T and aerospace standards to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance.
- Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and improve cycle time.
- Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to resolve manufacturability issues and implement corrective actions.
- Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks/CATIA) to create process layouts, tooling designs, and fixture concepts.
- Analyze process data with MATLAB or similar tools to drive data‑based decision making.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing methods or a similar high‑precision industry.
- Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks or CATIA) and strong understanding of GD&T.
- Hands‑on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and process‑improvement methodologies.
- Ability to interpret aerospace specifications and work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
