Data Analyst
Analyze and interpret utility meter data to drive operational efficiency, using Python, SQL, and cloud platforms while creating visual dashboards and supporting data‑driven decision making.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and validate large volumes of water, wastewater, and energy meter data from field devices and SCADA systems.
- Develop automated ETL pipelines in Python and SQL to transform raw meter readings into structured datasets for analysis.
- Design and maintain interactive dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) that surface consumption trends, anomalies, and performance metrics for internal teams and clients.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify data quality issues, propose corrective actions, and improve meter data acquisition processes.
- Leverage AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Lambda) to store, process, and scale meter data workflows.
- Produce regular reports and ad‑hoc analyses that support billing accuracy, demand forecasting, and sustainability initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field with 2+ years of experience in utility or industrial data analysis.
- Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy) and SQL for data manipulation and querying.
- Experience building ETL pipelines and working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Strong data‑visualization skills using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with meter data protocols, SCADA systems, and basic understanding of water/energy utilities.
