Mechanical Project Engineer responsible for planning, executing, and managing capital engineering projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and overseeing change management initiatives within budget and schedule constraints.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of capital engineering projects from concept through completion.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, external vendors, and contractors to ensure project milestones are met.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and scope documents, monitoring progress and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Manage Management of Change (MOC) activities for maintenance and operational upgrades, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and present project status reports to senior leadership, highlighting risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical project engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget, with strong knowledge of project management methodologies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and Microsoft Office suite.
