About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and analysis of mechanical systems for mining and heavy industrial equipment using CAD and FEA tools.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop fit‑for‑purpose engineering solutions that meet performance, cost, and safety targets.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, applying lean manufacturing principles to optimize processes and reduce waste.
- Oversee project delivery from concept through commissioning, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and regulatory standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex design challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in mining or heavy industrial sectors.
- Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, CATIA) and FEA (ANSYS, Abaqus) software.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, quality standards, and project management methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
