Software Engineer
Coordinate mechanical, electrical and instrumentation engineering for large tunnel construction, ensuring design integration, quality, safety and schedule compliance using BIM and project management tools.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the integration of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation (ME&I) design for twin three‑lane tunnel sections, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with civil, structural and construction teams to resolve design conflicts, optimize layouts and support constructability reviews.
- Prepare and review detailed drawings, specifications and cost estimates, maintaining accurate documentation in BIM and project management systems.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to schedule deliveries, manage change orders and track progress against milestones.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality and environmental requirements, conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in tunnel or large infrastructure projects, with proven ME&I coordination skills.
- Proficiency in BIM (Revit, Navisworks) and MS Project or equivalent.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving and stakeholder management abilities.
- Knowledge of Australian construction codes, safety regulations and quality standards.
