Software Engineer
Co-op engineering role supporting materials testing and standards compliance for a major energy provider, applying laboratory techniques, data analysis, and technical reporting to ensure safe and reliable gas infrastructure.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in performing materials testing and characterization of pipeline components and related equipment.
- Support the development, review, and maintenance of engineering standards and specifications.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to identify trends and compliance issues.
- Prepare clear technical reports and documentation for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot material failures and recommend corrective actions.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering program (or related field).
- Hands‑on experience with laboratory equipment and testing methods (e.g., tensile testing, hardness, microscopy).
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Python, or MATLAB.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
- Attention to safety protocols and ability to work in a regulated environment.
