Manufacturing Systems Research Engineer - National Institute of Standards and Technology

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement machine learning models to predict and optimize control‑process‑quality relationships in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Develop statistical and data‑analysis pipelines in Python to process large industrial datasets.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate augmented intelligence solutions into existing manufacturing workflows.
• Publish findings in technical reports and peer‑reviewed journals, contributing to the field of intelligent manufacturing.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and propose enhancements to current research methodologies.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master’s) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with focus on manufacturing or control systems.
• Proven experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analysis for industrial processes.
• Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with scientific libraries (NumPy, pandas, scikit‑learn).
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and control‑system principles.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to publish technical research.
