Lead a hybrid on‑prem and cloud database team, overseeing MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, and MongoDB Atlas environments while driving platform reliability, performance, and automation for a large insurance organization.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Database Administrators and Platform Engineers across on‑prem and cloud environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain high‑availability MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, and MongoDB Atlas deployments.
- Develop and enforce database governance, security, and compliance policies.
- Automate provisioning, monitoring, and backup processes using IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with data, application, and security teams to optimize performance and scalability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of database administration and platform engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, and MongoDB Atlas.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration.
- Proficiency with scripting (Python, Bash) and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
