Software Engineer
Lead a team in technical accounting for complex derivative instruments, ensuring accurate GAAP reporting, valuation, and compliance while leveraging SAP, Excel, and Python for automation and analysis.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and review of GAAP financial statements related to derivative contracts and other complex financial instruments.
- Develop and maintain valuation models for swaps, options, futures, and other derivatives, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with treasury, risk, and finance teams to integrate derivative accounting processes into SAP and other ERP systems.
- Drive automation initiatives using Python and advanced Excel to streamline data extraction, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Mentor and manage a team of technical accountants, providing guidance on accounting standards, best practices, and professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in technical accounting, with a focus on derivatives and complex financial instruments.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 815, and related regulatory guidance.
- Proficiency in SAP (or similar ERP) and advanced Excel; hands‑on experience with Python for data automation is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
