About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and refinement of robotic control algorithms for surgical systems, translating clinical requirements into robust, real‑time software solutions.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and clinical teams to define system architecture, performance metrics, and safety validation plans.
- Drive continuous improvement of algorithmic performance through data analysis, simulation, and field‑feedback loops.
- Ensure compliance with medical device regulations (FDA, ISO 13485) and internal safety standards throughout the development lifecycle.
- Mentor and coach a cross‑functional team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and quality.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in robotics or advanced control systems, with a strong background in embedded C++ and real‑time software.
- Proven track record managing complex algorithmic projects in a regulated medical device environment.
- Deep understanding of safety engineering principles, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience with ROS, MATLAB/Simulink, and version control (Git) is highly desirable.
