Software Engineer
Hands‑on manager leading a data engineering team to design, build, and operate scalable data platforms for a luxury e‑commerce business, leveraging Python, SQL, Airflow, Snowflake, AWS, and Spark.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Own end‑to‑end data platform architecture, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance for analytics, personalization, and inventory visibility.
- Lead a team of data engineers, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and fostering a collaborative, player‑coach culture.
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines using Python, SQL, Apache Airflow, and Apache Spark to ingest and transform data from diverse sources.
- Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions that drive merchandising insights and customer experiences.
- Implement and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, including data storage, compute, and security best practices.
- Establish monitoring, alerting, and governance processes to ensure data quality and operational excellence.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands‑on data engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or people‑management role.
- Strong expertise in Python, SQL, and modern data stack tools such as Apache Airflow, Snowflake, and Apache Spark.
- Proven experience designing and operating cloud‑based data platforms on AWS.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across product, engineering, and business teams in a fast‑paced retail or e‑commerce environment.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and mentorship skills.
