Lead enterprise data governance initiatives, ensuring data quality, consistency, and compliance across the organization while driving the development and maintenance of a comprehensive data glossary and robust data models.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all business units.
- Lead the creation, maintenance, and promotion of a company-wide data glossary, ensuring consistent terminology and metadata across systems.
- Collaborate with data architects and business stakeholders to design and refine data models that support analytics, reporting, and operational needs.
- Oversee data quality initiatives, including data profiling, cleansing, and validation processes, to maintain high data reliability.
- Act as a subject matter expert on data relationships, lineage, and impact analysis for new data initiatives and system changes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles within a large enterprise.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques, metadata management, and data glossary best practices.
- Proven ability to translate complex data concepts into clear, actionable policies and documentation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with data governance tools and platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation) is a plus.
