Software Engineer
Lead component engineering for alternative fuel systems, driving design, analysis, and manufacturing of CNG, RNG, and hydrogen storage solutions using CAD, FEA, and rigorous quality standards.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the design and development of high‑performance components for compressed natural gas, renewable natural gas, and hydrogen storage systems.
- Lead cross‑functional teams through concept, prototype, and production phases, ensuring design intent aligns with performance, safety, and cost targets.
- Utilize CAD and Finite Element Analysis to validate structural integrity, thermal performance, and manufacturability of components.
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes, including ISO 9001 compliance, design reviews, and failure‑mode analysis.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and supply‑chain partners to optimize production methods, reduce lead times, and control costs.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 8+ years of component design experience in the energy or automotive sector.
- Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent) and FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus).
- Strong project management skills with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on schedule.
- Experience with manufacturing processes (machining, casting, additive manufacturing) and quality systems (ISO, Six Sigma).
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities, capable of mentoring junior engineers and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
