Mainframe RACF Security Engineer responsible for securing z/OS environments, managing RACF, UNIX, z/Linux, Db2, and CICS, and leveraging IBM TKE to maintain and report on security posture.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain RACF, UNIX, z/Linux, Db2, and CICS security controls across the mainframe environment.
- Apply IBM TKE best practices to harden the system and enforce security policies.
- Develop and sustain comprehensive reporting structures that illustrate current security posture and compliance with internal and external standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to assess risks, implement mitigations, and conduct periodic security reviews.
- Document procedures, update configuration baselines, and provide guidance on secure coding and operational practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience with RACF, UNIX, z/Linux, Db2, and CICS security.
- Hands‑on knowledge of IBM TKE and z/OS Region Parameter/JCL.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate security requirements into actionable configurations.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement.
- Remote work capability with occasional travel as needed.
