Responsible for administering RACF security on z/OS, managing user IDs, groups, and resource profiles, and enforcing least‑privilege controls across datasets and mainframe applications such as CICS, DB2, IMS, and MQ.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the RACF security environment across multiple z/OS systems.
- Create, modify, and revoke user IDs, groups, and resource profiles in accordance with security policies.
- Define and manage dataset and subsystem access permissions, ensuring compliance with least‑privilege principles.
- Implement access controls for critical mainframe applications, including CICS, DB2, IMS, and MQ.
- Monitor security logs, conduct regular audits, and respond to security incidents on the mainframe platform.
Requirements
- Strong experience with RACF administration and z/OS security concepts.
- Hands‑on knowledge of mainframe applications such as CICS, DB2, IMS, and MQ.
- Proven ability to design and enforce least‑privilege access models for datasets and system resources.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a high‑availability environment.
- Effective communication skills for documenting procedures and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
