Lead the transformation of legacy mainframe systems to modern cloud environments, leveraging DevOps practices, automation, and containerization to deliver scalable, resilient solutions on AWS.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and execute migration strategies for mainframe applications to cloud-native platforms, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to refactor COBOL and JCL code, integrating modern microservices where appropriate.
- Design and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation for reproducible environments.
- Monitor and optimize performance, cost, and security of migrated workloads on AWS.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in mainframe development and migration projects.
- Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and related mainframe tooling.
- Hands‑on expertise with DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch).
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
