About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain ADMIN and CARMS applications on IBM z/OS using COBOL, CICS, JCL, and Assembler.
- Lead modernization initiatives, refactoring legacy code to modern standards and integrating with MQ messaging.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define requirements, perform impact analysis, and deliver high‑quality releases.
- Mentor and coach junior programmers, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of batch and CICS workloads.
Requirements
- 5+ years of mainframe application development experience, with strong proficiency in COBOL, CICS, JCL, and Assembler.
- Hands‑on experience with IBM MQ and batch processing.
- Solid understanding of mainframe modernization concepts and tools.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, client‑focused mindset.
