Machine Learning Engineer - TikTok BRIC

About the Role

The Business Risk Integrated Control (BRIC) team at ByteDance is dedicated to protecting users, securing platform health, and ensuring community experience authenticity across ByteDance platforms like TikTok, CapCut, Resso, and Lark. The team builds robust infrastructures, platforms, and technologies to minimize the impact of inauthentic behaviors in various areas such as account integrity, engagement authenticity, anti-spam, API abuse, growth fraud, live streaming security, and financial safety.

Responsibilities

• Build machine learning solutions to identify and mitigate business risks across ByteDance products/platforms, including abusive accounts, fake engagements, spammy redirection, scraping, and fraud.
• Improve modeling infrastructures, labels, features, and algorithms to enhance robustness, automation, and generalization, thereby reducing modeling and operational load for risk adversaries and new product/risk ramp-ups.
• Elevate risk machine learning excellence in areas such as privacy/compliance, interpretability, risk perception, and analysis.

Qualifications

• Master's or above degree in computer science, statistics, or other relevant, machine-learning-heavy majors.
• Solid engineering skills with proficiency in at least two of the following: Linux, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Storm.
• Strong machine learning background, demonstrating proficiency or publications in modern machine learning theories and applications such as deep neural nets, transfer/multi-task learning, reinforcement learning, time series, or graph unsupervised learning.
• Ability to think critically, objectively, and rationally, and to communicate in a result-oriented, data-driven manner.
• High autonomy.
