About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, train, and fine‑tune large language models and transformer‑based architectures for defence‑specific use cases.
- Implement model evaluation pipelines and optimise inference performance to meet strict latency and resource constraints.
- Collaborate with domain experts to translate complex problem statements into robust machine‑learning solutions.
- Maintain high‑quality, production‑ready codebases in Python, adhering to best practices for reproducibility and scalability.
- Communicate findings, progress, and technical decisions clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in machine‑learning theory, mathematics, and statistics.
- Hands‑on experience with large language models, transformer architectures, and model optimisation techniques.
- Proficient Python programming skills, including familiarity with ML libraries such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems within constrained or secure environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
