Mid‑level Linux Systems Administrator with hands‑on experience in DoD command and control environments, responsible for deploying, testing, and supporting GCCS‑J infrastructure while ensuring mission‑critical uptime and security compliance.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers that host GCCS‑J components, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate system functionality, reliability, and security before fielding.
- Collaborate with warfighters and operational users to troubleshoot issues, provide rapid resolution, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides for internal use and compliance audits.
- Participate in fielding activities, including on‑site deployments, training, and support for end‑users across the Joint Force.
Requirements
- 3+ years of Linux system administration in a mission‑critical environment.
- Experience with DoD command and control systems, preferably GCCS‑J.
- Strong test engineering skills, including test case development and automated testing frameworks.
- Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI eligible) and willingness to maintain security protocols.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities in a collaborative, high‑pressure setting.
