Lead Technology Analyst - Southwest Airlines

Key Responsibilities

• Research and assess emerging technologies, startups, and industry trends to identify strategic opportunities for the business.
• Prototype and develop proof‑of‑concept solutions using Python, machine learning models, and cloud platforms (AWS) to validate ideas.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional product, engineering, and data teams to integrate validated innovations into existing systems and workflows.
• Design and document APIs and data pipelines that enable seamless data flow between experimental solutions and core business applications.
• Lead agile sprints, mentor junior analysts, and communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of hands‑on experience in technology analysis or solution development.
• Proficiency in Python and experience building machine‑learning models or data‑driven prototypes.
• Strong knowledge of cloud services (AWS preferred) and experience deploying scalable solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate external innovations, conduct technical due diligence, and translate concepts into actionable roadmaps.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and agile project‑leadership skills.
