Systems Engineer
Lead System Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing PostgreSQL environments on Linux, focusing on backup/recovery, replication, and performance tuning using tools such as pg_dump, pgBouncer, and pg_repack.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain high‑availability PostgreSQL clusters (versions 12‑15) on Linux platforms.
- Implement and manage backup strategies, including WAL archiving, pg_dump/pg_dumpall, and point‑in‑time recovery.
- Configure and tune replication solutions using tools like repmgr and pgBouncer.
- Perform performance analysis and tuning, leveraging pg_repack, pg_crypto, and other extensions.
- Develop automation scripts and documentation for database deployment, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
Requirements
- 8–12 years of hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL administration and Linux system engineering.
- Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, backup/recovery (PITR), replication, and performance optimization.
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL tools/extensions such as repmgr, pgBackRest, pg_repack, pgBouncer, and pg_audit.
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and monitoring.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and experience working in complex, production‑grade environments.
