Lead Structural Engineer responsible for designing, analysing and managing high‑profile building projects using BIM, AutoCAD, Revit and SAP2000, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and sustainability targets.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design and analysis of complex commercial and residential building projects, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and client specifications.
- Develop and maintain BIM models, leveraging Revit and AutoCAD to produce accurate drawings, schedules and clash‑free designs.
- Perform detailed calculations and simulations using SAP2000, ETABS or equivalent software, preparing reports and design documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (architects, MEP, civil) to integrate structural solutions into overall project plans.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Manage project timelines, budgets and quality control, ensuring deliverables meet client expectations and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in structural engineering for high‑rise or large‑scale building projects.
- Proficient in BIM workflows, AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000/ETABS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of Australian building codes, AS 4100, AS 4101, and sustainability standards (Green Star, NABERS).
- Excellent communication, leadership and problem‑solving skills.
- Professional Engineer registration in Australia is preferred.
