Lead a security engineering team to embed secure SDLC practices, automate guardrails, and manage vulnerability workflows across development pipelines, driving faster, safer releases.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a small security engineering team to design, implement, and maintain security tooling and automated guardrails across the software development lifecycle.
- Partner with DevSecOps, Developer Experience, QA, Release Management, and broader security stakeholders to embed low‑friction security controls into developer workflows.
- Drive continuous improvement of secure SDLC practices, ensuring security is built into development, testing, and release processes.
- Oversee vulnerability management, including scanning, triage, remediation tracking, and reporting to improve release confidence.
- Mentor team members, set technical direction, and foster a culture of security awareness and best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in security engineering with a focus on SDLC and DevSecOps.
- Proven track record managing a small engineering team and delivering security tooling solutions.
- Deep knowledge of automated security testing, vulnerability management, and secure coding practices.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and influence security adoption.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
