Lead SCADA & Automation Engineer driving HVDC system design, implementation, and maintenance using SCADA, PLC, and Industrial Ethernet technologies to ensure reliable, high‑performance power transmission solutions.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SCADA architecture for HVDC transmission projects, ensuring seamless integration with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks.
- Lead site and office teams in commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of SCADA and automation systems, delivering high‑quality solutions on schedule.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering groups to define functional specifications, performance metrics, and safety requirements for HVDC control systems.
- Implement and validate security protocols, data integrity checks, and redundancy strategies to meet industry standards and regulatory compliance.
- Provide technical mentorship, training, and documentation to junior engineers and field personnel.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in SCADA and automation engineering, preferably within HVDC or high‑voltage power transmission.
- Proficient in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, or equivalent) and HMI design (WinCC, FactoryTalk, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of Industrial Ethernet, Modbus, DNP3, and SCADA security best practices.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects in dynamic environments.
- Effective communication skills and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
