Lead Project Engineer responsible for overseeing end‑to‑end defense technology solutions, driving requirements definition, system architecture, and cross‑functional delivery using Model‑Based Systems Engineering and Agile practices.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Responsible Engineering Authority, ensuring technical integrity and compliance across the product lifecycle.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to define, develop, and validate system requirements and architecture for mission‑critical defense solutions.
- Apply Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools to create and maintain system models, traceability matrices, and verification plans.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies while coordinating with stakeholders in space, air, land, sea, and cyber domains.
- Implement Agile processes to accelerate development cycles and improve cross‑team collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of systems engineering experience in defense or aerospace, with proven leadership of complex, multi‑disciplinary projects.
- Strong knowledge of DoD acquisition regulations, requirements development, and MBSE tools (e.g., SysML, Cameo, MagicDraw).
- Demonstrated project management expertise, including schedule, cost, and risk management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence technical decisions across diverse teams.
