Lead Product Designer - Rakuten International

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the overall design strategy for multiple consumer‑facing products, ensuring consistency across platforms.
• Lead the creation and maintenance of a scalable design system that supports rapid development and brand cohesion.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and data‑driven analysis to inform design decisions and improve user satisfaction.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and marketing teams to translate business goals into elegant, functional interfaces.
• Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a culture of design excellence and continuous learning.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design for web and mobile applications.
• Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end‑to‑end design processes, design systems, and measurable impact.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams and delivering design solutions in an agile environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to advocate for user‑centered design principles.
