Lead plumbing engineer responsible for designing and coordinating building plumbing systems, delivering code‑compliant solutions, and guiding multidisciplinary teams using Revit MEP and AutoCAD in complex commercial projects.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed plumbing layouts, calculations, and specifications for commercial and institutional building projects.
- Lead coordination efforts with mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines using BIM tools (Revit MEP, AutoCAD) to resolve clashes and ensure constructability.
- Perform code analysis, pressure testing, and performance simulations to guarantee compliance with local, state, and international plumbing standards.
- Mentor junior engineers, review their work, and provide technical guidance throughout all project phases.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communications to deliver high‑quality solutions on time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Plumbing Engineering with 8+ years of professional experience in building plumbing design.
- Proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD for creating and coordinating detailed drawings.
- Strong knowledge of International Plumbing Code (IPC), ASHRAE, and local jurisdictional requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and project management skills.
