Lead ML Scientist

The Lead ML Scientist will be responsible for implementing success metrics, driving experimentation, and presenting impacts to stakeholders. This role involves developing and evaluating predictive models using various mathematical methods and designing large-scale ML systems with advanced frameworks like TensorFlow/Keras/PyTorch, while also managing a team of data scientists and ensuring cross-team alignment.

Technology is at the core of everything we do. Our technology team helps us deliver a mobile-first experience across platforms (Android & iOS) while managing over 300 million rpm (requests per minute) at peak with a user concurrency of 10 million.

We have over 150 micro-services written in Java and backed by a Vert.x framework. These work with isolated product features with discrete architectures to cater to the respective use cases.

We work with terabytes of data, the infrastructure for which is built on top of Kafka, Redshift, Spark, Druid, etc. and it powers a number of use cases like Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics. Our tech stack is hosted on AWS, with distributed systems like Cassandra, Aerospike, Akka, Voltdb, Ignite, etc.

Your Role:

Implementing appropriate success metrics, driving rapid experimentation of new POCs and presenting the impacts to stakeholders
Driving knowledge sharing sessions within and across teams while maintaining continuous feedback channels with teammates to ensure building growth paths
Owning respective services by following best practices in service maintainability, understanding and acting on the risks and opportunities involved
Prioritising roadmaps while balancing impact, effort, resources and team's requirements to complete initiatives within committed timelines
Developing and evaluating predictive and prescriptive models using appropriate mathematical methods like supervised and unsupervised learning, frequentist statistics, estimation methods
Designing large-scale ML systems with advanced ML frameworks like TensorFlow/Keras/PyTorch for training and inferencing at scale
Ensuring cross team alignment towards business/project goals by driving visibility of initiatives, managing conflicts, and highlighting implementation blocks

Qualifiers:

5 - 10 years of experience in building and maintaining ML solutions at scale
Proficient in predictive modeling (ML,DL/RL) and experimentation/causal inference methods
Atleast 1 year of experience in managing team of data scientists and handling cross functional stakeholders
Proven track record of designing end to end ML systems which can handle the scale
