Lead the design and delivery of a next‑generation GIS program, integrating legacy Smallworld GIS with Esri Utility Network data into an ADMS using scalable, event‑driven pipelines on AWS.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and lead the integration of legacy Smallworld GIS with modern Esri Utility Network data into an Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS).
- Design and implement scalable, event‑driven data pipelines within an AWS environment to ensure real‑time synchronization across enterprise GIS, operational technology (OT), and cloud‑native services.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define data models, interface specifications, and performance requirements for the multi‑year transformation.
- Oversee the deployment, monitoring, and optimization of integration services, ensuring high availability and data integrity.
- Provide technical mentorship to engineering staff and drive best practices in GIS integration and cloud architecture.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with GIS platforms, particularly Esri Utility Network and Smallworld.
- Proven expertise in AWS services (Lambda, S3, Kinesis, Step Functions) and event‑driven architecture.
- Strong background in data engineering, ETL pipelines, and real‑time data synchronization.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Effective communication skills and experience leading technical teams.
