Software Engineer
Lead Engineer for Instrumentation & Controls on a large ammonia and urea plant, driving design, implementation, and optimization of PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, specification, and commissioning of PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems for the Ammonia & Urea project.
- Develop and maintain HMI interfaces, control logic, and safety instrumented systems (SIS) to meet industry standards.
- Collaborate with process, mechanical, and electrical teams to integrate control solutions and troubleshoot field issues.
- Oversee testing, validation, and handover of control systems, ensuring compliance with safety and quality requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and field staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in instrumentation and controls for chemical or petrochemical plants.
- Proficient in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), SCADA (Wonderware, Ignition), and DCS (Honeywell, Yokogawa).
- Strong knowledge of safety instrumented systems, HMI design, and process control fundamentals.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
