About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary geotechnical investigations for SMR site selection and design, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards.
- Develop and validate soil mechanics models, foundation designs, and ground support systems for reactor structures.
- Collaborate with civil, structural, and nuclear engineering teams to integrate geotechnical findings into overall project plans.
- Oversee field testing, borehole data acquisition, and laboratory testing to inform design decisions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience in geotechnical engineering within nuclear or large-scale civil projects.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio) and structural analysis tools.
- Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation design, and nuclear safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work in a hybrid environment.
