Software Engineer
Lead Electrical Engineer driving the design, coordination and technical oversight of a large hybrid renewable power plant, integrating solar, battery storage and low‑emissions thermal generation for a major mining project.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the electrical technical lead and HV authority for a multi‑MW hybrid power plant, ensuring all designs meet safety, compliance and performance standards.
- Coordinate and review consultant, vendor and contractor deliverables, providing technical guidance and resolving design conflicts.
- Develop and maintain detailed electrical design documents, including system layouts, protection schemes, and interconnection studies.
- Lead the integration of solar PV, battery storage and thermal generation components, optimizing system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with project management to schedule milestones, manage risks and support cost control initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; professional engineering registration preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in power plant design, with a strong focus on HV systems and hybrid renewable projects.
- Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of Australian electrical codes, safety regulations and industry best practices.
