Lead Data Scientist, Product - Descript

Key Responsibilities

• Design and lead end‑to‑end data science projects that inform product roadmap and growth strategy for AI‑driven audio and video tools.
• Develop, implement, and scale robust A/B testing frameworks to evaluate new features and user experiences.
• Build and productionize machine learning and deep learning models for transcription, editing, and content recommendation pipelines.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and designers to translate business questions into analytical solutions and data products.
• Mentor junior data scientists and foster a data‑centric culture across the product team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in data science or machine learning, preferably in consumer‑facing or media products.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and statistical modeling techniques.
• Demonstrated expertise in building and deploying ML/DL models (e.g., NLP, speech processing) at scale.
• Deep understanding of experimental design, A/B testing, and causal inference.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence product decisions with data‑driven insights.
