Senior Lead Data Scientist driving cancer intelligence and business insights, managing a team of analysts and scientists, and building robust reporting tools on the Christie’s JAC analytics platform using Python, ML, SQL and AWS.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of analytics specialists and data scientists to deliver high‑quality cancer intelligence and business insights.
- Design, develop and maintain scalable reporting tools and innovative data products on the Christie’s JAC analytics platform.
- Oversee the interpretation, communication and presentation of KPIs, operational metrics and population health analyses to senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define data requirements, ensure data quality, and drive continuous improvement of analytical workflows.
- Champion best practices in data science, including reproducible research, version control, and cloud‑based deployment.
Requirements
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in data science, preferably in a healthcare or clinical analytics environment.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and machine‑learning frameworks (scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Hands‑on experience with AWS services (S3, Redshift, SageMaker) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of leading technical teams.
