Lead Data Scientist driving advanced analytics and AI solutions for insurance, leveraging Python, Machine Learning, AWS, SQL and data engineering to deliver insights that shape product strategy and risk management.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deploy end‑to‑end machine learning pipelines that support underwriting, pricing and claims analytics.
- Lead a cross‑functional team of data scientists and engineers, mentoring best practices in model development, validation and monitoring.
- Collaborate with product, actuarial and risk teams to translate business problems into data‑driven solutions.
- Architect scalable data infrastructure on AWS, ensuring data quality, governance and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Communicate findings to senior stakeholders through clear visualizations and executive summaries.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data science, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and experience building production ML models on AWS (SageMaker, Glue, Redshift).
- Deep knowledge of statistical modeling, deep learning, and feature engineering for insurance use cases.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence decision‑making at all levels.
- Experience with data governance, privacy regulations and model explainability.
