Lead the creation, implementation, and governance of enterprise ontologies and semantic layers, driving data‑driven decision making across Disney's entertainment, sports, and experiences businesses using Python, knowledge graphs, and cloud technologies.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop enterprise‑wide ontologies and semantic models that unify data across multiple Disney business units.
- Build and maintain knowledge graphs, ensuring accurate relationships, taxonomy consistency, and alignment with business vocabularies.
- Define and enforce data governance policies for semantic assets, including versioning, documentation, and access controls.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineering teams to integrate ontologies into analytics pipelines, reporting tools, and AI/ML models.
- Lead technical reviews, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and drive best practices for semantic data architecture.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in ontology engineering, semantic web technologies (RDF, OWL, SPARQL) or knowledge‑graph development.
- Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency with SQL and cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Demonstrated ability to design data models that support large‑scale analytics and decision‑support systems.
- Experience establishing data governance frameworks and managing cross‑functional stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent communication skills and a track record of leading technical initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
