Lead Coating & Corrosion Engineer - Trane Technologies

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of protective coatings for HVAC, refrigeration, and transportation components.
• Conduct advanced corrosion testing, failure analysis, and material characterization to validate coating performance under diverse environmental conditions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate coating solutions into product development cycles, ensuring compliance with industry standards and sustainability goals.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including coating specifications, test reports, and failure investigation findings.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in coating and corrosion engineering within the HVAC, refrigeration, or transportation sectors.
• Proficiency with corrosion testing methods (salt spray, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, etc.) and surface analysis techniques.
• Strong knowledge of ASTM, ISO, and other relevant standards governing protective coatings.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
