About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and lead the development of a robust, scalable backend for a globally used visual storytelling platform.
- Design and implement high‑performance microservices using Python and Node.js, ensuring reliability and low latency for millions of concurrent users.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define data models, API contracts, and performance benchmarks.
- Drive continuous integration and deployment pipelines with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
- Mentor and coach a team of backend engineers, fostering best practices in code quality, testing, and security.
Requirements
- 10+ years of backend development experience with a strong focus on Python and Node.js.
- Proven expertise in designing and scaling microservices on AWS, including ECS/EKS, RDS, and S3.
- Deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, query optimization, and data modeling.
- Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Excellent communication skills and a track record of leading high‑performing engineering teams.
