Software Engineer
Senior SME role overseeing LAW, BOF, and LAB systems for the WTP Project, providing field engineering, mechanical and chemical assessment, and ventilation oversight to ensure contractor compliance and project success.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the HFO Field Engineer for LAW, BOF, and LAB systems, ensuring design integrity and operational readiness.
- Conduct on‑site oversight and assessment of contractor engineering activities, focusing on mechanical, chemical (e.g., ammonia handling), and ventilation structures.
- Perform in‑depth technical analysis and risk assessments, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to align field activities with DOE Hanford and WTP Project requirements.
- Provide expert guidance on compliance, safety, and quality standards for all engineering deliverables.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in LAW, BOF, and LAB system engineering within a large‑scale nuclear or industrial environment.
- Strong background in mechanical and chemical engineering, with proven ventilation system expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to lead field inspections, perform technical assessments, and produce detailed reports.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Valid security clearance or ability to obtain one for DOE Hanford projects.
